The best thing Americans can to to help restore the economy is to buy American made products whenever possible. Unfortunately, this is harder to do than you might imagine. Consider the following true story:
Once a high school teacher gave his students a project to do over a weekend. There were to go to a local mall and find as many products as possible that were made in the USA and list the items and store names. Of course these kids thought, "Cool! What fun!" But guess what? They couldn't FIND any! ...and THAT in itself was the lesson intended. Clever teacher.
WHY buy American made products? The more of our money spent on items made in other countries, the weaker our economy.
HOW to find American made products: On many websites you can enter 'made in USA' in the search box and pull up only products made here. For athletic shoes, New Balance is the only brand made here and they are top quality so why buy anything else???
