Internet Marketing with landing pages and keep the bouncers in!Landing pages are crucial the success of any website trying to grab the attention of the quick Internet user. Marketing on the Internet has changed leaps and bounds since printed media advertising - I'll teach you a few key ways to get your point across and keep your visitor.
Now, not all bouncers are bad news. A bouncer is considered someone who only visited one page of your website and left. If your website (like prohowtos.com) is a content based website and your primary objective is to relay information then someone coming in to read one article and leaving right after would be considered a bouncer. But that person could be coming back week after week and reading just one article at a time and always be called a bouncer. So those individuals don't count - they found benifit in what you were providing and stayed.
Think of it like a library - but much larger then all the world libraries combined. If you're looking for something exact, you'll just skim everything and most likely won't get into any one book unless you know it's the book. There is just too much on the Internet to read everything! This is why twitter is so popular - quick, short reads.
So how do you keep them? Landing pages that match exactly what they are looking for. Even more important, the good ol' KISS with an extra 'S' - KISSS - keep it simple + short, stupid.
Make pages as spesific as possible to the keyword that visitors will be entering from and pictures speak a thousand words, so get some nice quality photos to speak a few words for you. You can also relate information with other 'related' information, so if this page isn't exactly what you're looking for, maybe these three are. These are just a few ways to keep bouncers from bouncing.
